NDC finalizes strategy sessions ahead of campaign council inauguration

By Henzem kutyen · October 22, 2026

ABUJA, Oct 22 – The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has intensified stakeholder consultations across its regional structures as preparations enter final gear for the upcoming inauguration of its national campaign council for the January 2027 general election.

Party leaders noted that the joint presidential ticket of Peter Gregory Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso continues to receive strong endorsement from grassroots coalitions focusing on economic restructuring, transparency, and infrastructural renewal.

The organizational push follows recent clarifications by the leadership dismissing political speculations and reaffirming the alliance's determination to present a unified, production-oriented alternative to the electorate.

"We remain fully focused on consolidating our structures across all six geopolitical zones to offer Nigerians a credible path toward sustainable development," an NDC national executive member stated in Abuja.

Supporters maintain that the combination of Obi's fiscal prudence and Kwankwaso's extensive administrative and grassroots reach provides a formidable vehicle for national reform.

Political opponents and ruling party representatives, however, argue that managing a diverse coalition requires navigating complex internal alignments, suggesting that upcoming electoral hurdles will test the opposition's long-term cohesion.

Despite those counter-arguments, NDC campaign organizers maintain that their broad-based policy framework and disciplined outreach strategy position them strongly for the 2027 race.
