Rwanda: IMF-linked post puts first-half growth at 9.7 percent; Kigali hosts talks
Rwanda’s economy grew 9.7 percent in the first half of 2026 and remained resilient despite recent shocks, according to a post by Abel Buhungu (@abelbuhungu), who linked an International Monetary Fund statement. He wrote that strong export and remittance inflows helped narrow the current-account deficit, and that foreign-exchange reserves covered about four months of imports.
In Kigali, UKWELITIMES WORLD (@UKWELINEWSWORLD) said Environment Minister Dr Arakwiye hosted Austria’s Vice Minister of Finance, Andreas Reichhardt, for talks on cooperation and investment in Rwanda’s environment sector. The Global Alliance for NTDs Elimination (@GANEKenya) said it and One Health Tanzania signed a five-year memorandum of understanding at the 17th NTD NGOs Conference 2026 in Kigali.
