Rwanda participates in regional defence meetings
KIGALI (EME) – A Rwandan delegation led by Minister of Defence Juvenal Marizamunda, with Maj. Gen. Vincent Nyakarundi representing the Chief of Defence Staff, took part in the statutory defence meetings of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) in Lusaka, Zambia, from October 14–16, according to an official post associated with Rwanda’s Ministry of Defence.
The sessions covered coordination among the 12 member states on regional security threats. Other recent items noted on X and local outlets include Rwanda’s hosting of a Formula 1-related discussion (referenced by @ideatelevision) and ongoing economic reviews, including an IMF staff-level agreement earlier this month that could unlock about $35.7 million under an Extended Credit Facility. A religious conference was also scheduled in Kigali this weekend, as posted by several accounts.
